Why do I have to fill out the I-9 form?

The I-9 Form is a work authorization document that employers must complete and retain when they hire a new employee to prove they are legally entitled to work in the United States.

Effective November 1, 2023, all employees and employers must complete the I-9 Form under the terms of the Act.

Please keep this for both your records.

Nanny Lane does not require the I-9 form to be submitted to payroll; please ensure you keep this for record purposes. At this time, the employer is required to retain the original I-9 for 3 years. We strongly suggest you keep the original and a digital copy of the completed I-9.
